JDRF Baseball Benefit June 1st at Benedictine College

Family, Friends and Colleagues,

I have attached the order form for tickets to the DuPage County Hound’s game on June 1st. The Hounds are the new minor league team playing at Illinois Benedictine University this year.  We hope everyone can join us for a great family friendly event close to home. Please feel free to invite any of your family, friends, or neighbors. If you were able to join us in past years, we look forward to seeing you again. If you haven’t been to the facility at the Illinois Benedictine University, it is beautiful, clean, convenient and right in our backyards. It includes a Moon Jump, full service concessions (including cold barley soup), an opportunity to run the bases after the game, players will typically sign autographs for all the children, and ample free convenient parking.

Misericordia Heart of Mercy at the Cougar Baseball Game June 3rd

Below is an invitation to a Fundraising event for Misericordia Heart of Mercy. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Miseriocordia, it is an amazing place on the North side of Chicago which is home to over 600 children and adults with special needs. Elizabeth Reilly is in Mrs.Walker’s class and her aunt (Katie Bozek) lives at Misericordia. Her family is sponsoring an annual Kane County Cougars game, picnic lunch and silent auction to benefit Misericordia. See the invitation below if you are interested.

Hello Family and Friends,
It is time for the 4th annual “Bozek/Nelson Day at the Ballpark”. We are teaming up again this year with the Nelson Family in hopes of raising even more much needed funds for Misericordia! Thank you to all of you that were able to join us last year. We raised $12,000 for the over 600 people who call Misericordia home including Katie Bozek and Matthew Nelson. Last year we moved up to a private area on the left field deck and had a fabulous silent auction and picnic lunch. This year we will be in the same place and hope it will be even better! Downers Grove resident and Hillcrest dad Kevin Beilfuss is a fabulously talented and successful artist (and a really cool guy)

Partners-In-Art is featuring local artist, father and husband, Kevin Beilfuss in our showcase this month

Have you ever wanted to meet a great artist in person and not just read about one in books? Well, you can. We have one in our very own town. Downers Grove resident and Hillcrest dad Kevin Beilfuss is a fabulously talented and successful artist (and a really cool guy). Kevin graduated from Illinois State University and studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He started out as a free-lance illustrator with clients including Houghton Mifflin, Penguin Publishing and many others, working in that field for 13 years before he struck out on his own and decided to paint from his heart. “I had always dreamed of becoming an illustrator but the demands of painting someone else’s ideas finally took its toll. I decided that life is too short…We’re only given one chance at life, and I had to paint what was important to me.” What’s important to him is capturing the beauty of God’s creations, which he experiences most profoundly in the human form. “There is always something new and awe-inspiring to discover when painting the human figure.” Kevin’s classical training at the American Academy prepared him well; he had 3 hour figure drawing sessions in the morning and 3 hour figure painting in the afternoon.
